Launch MVNO Services Faster than Before with Readymade Billing and OSS Solutions

For an MVNO to deliver its services up to the expectation of its subscribers can be a tough task. As MVNOs do not have their own network infrastructure, they are dependent on MNOs and MVNEs. Also, they have an urgent need to grow across different verticals, so as to supply the requisite services to their subscribers. From basic services like SIM card delivery to billing and OSS solutions, they need help especially in the initial stages.

Full MVNOs vs. Branded Resellers

A full MVNO is a fully-functional MVNO model with its very own network infra and hardware like HLR. On the other extreme of the MVNO universe, we have branded resellers and thin MVNOs who are technically limited. They are more or less dependent on the MVNE and its telecom systems like telecom postpaid billing system, telecom prepaid billing system, broadband monetization, video streaming platforms etc. In the MVNO world, the number of marketing experts (branded reseller) is higher than the ones who are technologically accomplished (full MVNO). And, these MVNOs would rather ignore the technical side of running an MVNO, so they can focus more on selling the services to a dedicated subscriber base. Therefore, they need the services of adept MVNEs and telecom support services providers.

The Value of Readymade Billing and OSS Solutions

Readymade billing and OSS solutions can expedite the journey of ambitious MVNOs. By utilizing well-established resources like lifeline ETC module, it is possible for them to reach out to a targeted subscriber base.
As an example, we can take the case of lifeline services provided to the US customers. An MVNO who wants to target economically weaker subscriber group would have to procure the right database, software etc., in order to start this service. But an easier way is to utilize readymade billing and OSS solutions in the form of lifeline ETC module, which can help in:
·         Authentication of subscribers
·         Elimination of duplicity from the database
·         Verification of subscriber address
·         Subscriber eligibility check
Such a pre-built module can come in really handy for budding MVNOs who want to target specific user groups. And, it can also allow them to grow in a variety of verticals via APIs and pre-established partnerships. For example, a simple install of API allows them to access services of payment gateways and shipping vendors.

Cutting-Edge Charging System for Billing Present and Future Services

One of the most important requirements of modern-day telecom billing is a convergent charging system. But most MVNOs do not have the time, money or skills to develop or acquire the right billing and OSS solutions. But with the right partnership with the right telecom support vendor, you can access the perfect platform for service delivery. At Telgoo5, we have a cutting-edge OCS that can expedite plan launch and improve MVNO services from the ground up. Have a look at some of its vital features:
Quick monetization of services
The most critical thing for an MVNO to be successful is to launch its services faster than its competition. Our billing and OSS solutions are very flexible and allow MVNOs to package their services exactly as per their marketing strategies, and in the shortest time possible.
Event and session-based charging
Our OCS can bill services based on events and sessions. For example, an SMS is charged as per event basis and calls are charged as per the length of the call sessions. This functionality allows almost every service – past and present – to be monetized and billed effectively.
Enforcement of credit limits
Our OCS enforces thresholds religiously. It charges services in real-time and the moment a subscriber is about to expend his/her quota, it sends notifications. Therefore, subscribers stay within the quota limit and do not incur additional charges.

All You Need to Know about the Operations of Telecom Postpaid Billing System

Evolution of technology has touched each and every aspect of our lives. There are some changes we experience, like evolution of social platforms such as Facebook and there are some changes that we don’t, like evolution of telecom postpaid billing system.
After passing through many levels of abstraction, the telecom services are delivered to our doorsteps and we simply don’t bother about their complexity. Worried, that something could go wrong! Don’t be, the telecom billing systems of today are innovative, robust and most important of all, they are reliable. Want to know what makes them work so well, read on.

Telecom Billing System
The top telecom billing system is so vast that this article may not have enough space to cover all its features. But, we can discuss a few key features and enlighten ourselves on its various key facets. Let’s start with a comparison:

Telecom Postpaid Billing System vs. Telecom Prepaid Billing System

When a customer decides to subscribe to a telecom service provider, he has two options: Prepaid or Postpaid. Prepaid users are generally higher with almost 70% users preferring it over postpaid. However, postpaid plan has its own advantages – both for customers and providers – that will become clearer from the comparison below:
Billing – Prepaid billing procedure is much more rigorous than postpaid billing. As a customer pays before using the services, his account needs to be updated in real-time. On the other hand, postpaid billing is a lot easier to handle for service providers as they can charge customer at the end of the month.
Prepaid plan eliminates the chance of overusing the data and postpaid plan ensures convenience in bill payments.
Services – Real-time charging (in prepaid billing) is not suitable for handling the requirements of business customers. As the charges need to be analyzed, bifurcated and altered depending on the business plan, it becomes harder to do so much in real time.
For business customers, postpaid billing is an ideal solution as it allows for better maintenance of customers’ records according to their hierarchy.

How Telecom Postpaid Billing System Works?

To understand the operations of postpaid system, we should know the information required by the billing system.
  1. The number from which the call is made
  2. The number to which the call is made
  3. Starting time of the call
  4. Duration of the call
  5. Type of call
When a call is made, the above mentioned pieces of information, which are also known as CDR attributes are received by a billing system. The system converts this information into a format, which could be understood. The converted information is guided to the customer’s account and CDRs are charged and rated according to the customer’s plan.
After rating is done, the information is stored in the billing system. Later, on the billing cycle date (the date of bill generation), the information is processed and converted into bill/invoice. During the invoicing process, relevant taxes and discounts are also applied. The bill is sent to the customer. The bill has a due date before which the customer should make the payment. If the customer fails to make the payment in specified time, then he incurs a late payment fees. The fee is added to the billed amount. After the reception of payment, the customer’s account is updated.
